The Red Rooster brand

With over 345 stores Australia-wide, Red Rooster is one of the most, recognised food franchises in Australia. A staple Australian brand for decades, the modern Red Rooster draws from its well-loved history while moving into its modern and innovative future.

Australian-owned since the 1970s, Red Rooster has always been an Aussie icon, always focused on satisfying Australia’s chicken cravings. This roast and fried chicken franchise brand provides a world of opportunity for any aspiring Franchise Partner.

Success, together

We’re huge believers that it ‘takes a village’. So when you buy a Red Rooster chicken franchise, you’ll have our talented team of experts by your side to help you succeed.
From finding a property to supply chain needs, through to training, operating, marketing and product development – we’ll be with you every step of the way.

Location, location, location

When it comes to finding your ideal location for a new shop front or drive-thru restaurant our team know what to look for. Choose from available franchises or let us know what suburb and state you are interested in. Our Property Team constantly scout for exciting locations, but they’re also open to new Franchise Partners’ recommendations. And don’t worry about the rent negotiations – our team is already on it!

Get tech working for you

Australian food franchises have to adapt to meet the needs of today’s digital customers, and Red Rooster is committed to leading the flock. With new digital initiatives in the pipeline, you can look forward to drive-thru enhancements, increased delivery options and click-and-collect catering. Add in a generous customer loyalty program, and you’re sure to see some very happy customers.

Speaking of digital…

Because Red Rooster is part of Craveable Brands, you’ll also be able to access the resources of a huge tech team. They’ll innovate, action and roll out all the company’s digital developments – online ordering, contactless customer service and app-led-delivery. That means you’ll get fast development, seamless installation and ongoing support.

Draw on the buying power of a national giant

As a member of the larger Craveable Brands family, you’ll benefit from unparalleled group buying power. We do all the hard supply chain work for you, and we’re set up to weather any storm. That means you won’t have to manage all the details that independent operators have to worry about.

Great food that makes your customers happy

We’re currently renewing and innovating the Red Rooster menu. We’re keeping all the iconic favourites, but adding in a new range of tasty snacks. Our New Product Development Team constantly comes up with new and better ways to do things. So when it comes to roast and fried chicken franchise opportunities, it doesn’t get much better (or tastier) than this.

You just need to bring along your customer focussed approach, your business skills and a positive attitude to immerse yourself into our proven processes and procedures. Before your store opens, we’ll take you through our comprehensive training program. We’ll even provide a turnkey operation if you’re opening a new build. Frequently Asked Questions

  • What’s it like to own a Red Rooster franchise?

Just imagine opening a new business and all the procedures and processes are already in place! Your supply chain is already in place, your restaurant has everything it needs – including the digital structure – and a team of experts is standing by to help you. From crew training to payroll, there’s a proven system in place. You don’t even need to figure out uniforms. It’s a business owner’s dream.

  • How much does it cost to buy a Red Rooster franchise?

Depending on the size and layout, a store typically costs between $400,000 and $800,000 (plus GST) depending on whether it’s a new build or existing operating business.

In addition to this, you’ll need to pay a franchise fee of $50,000 (plus GST).

  • How is owning a franchise different to owning my own business?

Firstly, choosing to buy a food franchise business in Australia means you’re starting on a higher rung of the ladder. Statistically, Australian franchises are much more likely to succeed than independent start-ups.

That’s because an already-established brand with proven systems and procedures, existing customer base and an extensive support network is a great way to get ahead.

That said, it is still your responsibility to build a loyal customer base for your restaurant, be an employer of choice, actively engage with your community and create a robust business.

  • Can I suggest a location to open a Red Rooster franchise?

Sure, that’s no problem. Our Property Team are always scouting for great locations, and some established stores are also up for grabs. But if you have your heart set on a specific location, our team is happy to assess it for you. If it’s appropriate, we’ll even do the negotiations.

  • What qualifications do I need to buy a Red Rooster franchise?

Customer-centricity is a must (aka must love people). Operating a successful restaurant relies on creating a supportive environment for team members and a welcoming environment for customers.

Business acumen is beneficial however with a good work ethic, willingness to learn and passion for the restaurant business – we can teach you what you need to know.

Please note that you do need to be an Australian permanent resident or citizen to own a business in Australia.

  • I already own a business. Can I still buy a Red Rooster franchise?

Absolutely, that’s not a problem. We just recommend that all of our Franchise Partners actually work within their Red Rooster restaurant (which means you need to have enough time available to do that). We’ve found that owner operators are more successful and success is what we want for you.

  • How do I get started?

We thought you’d never ask. Follow the link below and fill out the form. Someone will get in touch with you ASAP to start the process.
